Not without a bit of nostalgia, this sixth chapter was – let’s say – good. Incredible to say, they succeeded in the enterprise. The initial screen of the Director’s Cut, with which the game landed on Nintendo Game Cube. How to physically manage such a concept? How to reproduce the proverbial speed of the protagonist and the multiple routes guaranteed by the predecessors on Mega Drive? This time “in fact”, no longer a hit and run.

So the time for reckoning came, the time to transport the fastest hedgehog in the world to a polygonal realm. For example, in the Chaos Emerald-related stages in Sonic & Knuckles, or in the 2.5D world of Flickies’ Island. Sonic, in the 3D world, had already allowed himself some strange visits for some time.

Despite the commercial failure, its technical value remains indisputable, and as in the case of Mario 64 at Nintendo, an attempt was made to make the blue mascot make a dimensional leap too.
